My 2-cent idea for future Vuescan versions.

JOB LOG

I can see from a professional standpoint that a job log (or call it a
time sheet) would be helpful for those who offer professional
services.

You could start a job that would track the time it takes to scan each
print or negative. You could put the job on pause and come back to it
the next day and resume work. The idea is that you would have a
written record of your work time.

You could track the work time by sessions and by file scan. If you
are scanning each file individually it could be helpful for one to
know the average time from prescan to scan and then from scan to the
file writing completion. Analyzing this information could help
professionals maximize their time and give the client a written record
of the time spent on each scan.

This is just an idea in raw form and it may be worth less than 2 cent.
I'm not a professional and don't offer digital services. I like
Vuescan and wish to contribute ideas towards it's success.

Aloha

Time in Vuescan is just a very small fraction of the overall time I
spend on each image, for me. I spend a lot of time in Photoshop, or
simply in a viewer, sorting and inspecting images. Why harness
yourself to an software timeclock? I would think just keeping an
independent log file with a text editor (such as TextPad) which is
able to insert time/date is more practical.
