Hello there,

In Movie Maker, click on TOOLS > OPTIONS and change the default temporary
storage folder to one of your choice.

When capturing your video with Movie Maker choose the destination to be drive D
as well.

Unlead does not give you that option,is there a way to
move free space from d to c drive? or change to d drive
when I want to capture and then go back to c drive when I
am done? THANK YOU

Hi there,

The only way you can make more space on C is to remove something....not always
a good idea.

Can you re-install ULead and install it to the D-Drive? It may be one of those
programs that puts all of its work inside its own directory tree. If it does,
then you are probably home and dry. If not, I can't see how you are going to do
it.

A little light comes on!!! There may be a way....it is possible to make a whole
disk drive act as though it is a directory on another drive such that clicking
on that directory in drive C gives you all the access to the free space on
drive D...I used to use it before I purchased some more hard drives. I cannot
remember how I did it at the moment (Having a senior moment here) Whether you
can use it or not depends on exactly what ULead will let you do

For now I would suggest you try the re-install option. REmember to un-install
from its present location first. Let us know how it goes and whether you want
the info on how to make a drive act like a directory

Yes I would like that if you remember. is it possible to move the folders from C drive to D drive to free up space then do the capture then move them back? Thank you so much.

James it seems you are approaching the problem the wrong way. Pelase explain
in a bit more detail what you are trying to do. Which Ulead product are you
referring to? Why do you think it is appropriate to ask it in Movie Maker
forum?

Anyway, to create a "mounted drive" (what John Kelly seems to be trying to
suggest):
You need to have a new or completely empty hard disk to mount...

Open Computer Management (Local) [ Start->Run: compmgmt.msc ].
In the console tree, click Disk Management.
Right-click the partition or volume you want to mount, and then click Change
Drive Letter and Paths.
Do one of the following:
To mount a volume, click Add. Click Mount in the following empty NTFS
folder, type the path to an empty folder on an NTFS volume, or click Browse
to locate it.
To unmount a volume, click it and then click Remove.

Hello there,

Yes OK. Its real easy to do....follow theses steps.....

1) Right Click on My Computer
2) Click on Manage
3) Click on Disk Manager
4) Right Click on Drive D and select Change Drive Letter and Paths
5) In the new dialog box click on Add
6) In the yet again new box click on Browse
7) Click Drive C and then click on New Folder
8) Enter a name for that folder and click OK

If you want that folder to be the one that holds the Ulead program then
what you do is first of all delete the Ulead folder from Drive C after
making a careful note of its full path name. Then in step 7 above you
re-create that path in step 8 above.

But the actual path is empty, you deleted it...no problem, re-install
the ULead software, making sure it goes into the same location and that's
it.

What have you actually done ?? Easy, you have made the route path for
drive D the actual path in drive C for the program ULead. Everything else on
Drive D remains and Drive D can be accessed in exactly the same way as it
always has. Just remember not to delete those files in the route of drive
D...otherwise ULead might throw a bit of a wobbly.

What's the betting this method suddenly appears on another web sight as
an original idea :)

Best Wishes.....John Kelly

Hello again :)

I should have also said...All of the directories on your Drive D will now
appear as sub-directories of the one you created on Drive C. DO NOT assume that
you can manipulate those directories as if they really were on your C Drive, It
could have a disastrous effect.

Hi Again,

Just realised that I had not answered the second part of your question. Yes,
you can move directories to the D Drive and bring them back afterwards.

1) Using the COPY function move them to D Drive
2) Delete them from C

If you use the MOVE function instead and you suffer a power loss or for any
other reason your system fails in the middle of the process there is a good
chance that you will loose data....Do it carefully.
