I upgraded a Sony PCG-F190 notebook pc to Win 2000 Pro.
I then installed various patches from Sony, some of which
produced the error message: "SBS.DRV can not load because
VSBS.386 is not available. Check your System.INI Windows
configuration file." Anybody out there that can help
with this one?

Hi Paul,

Your given description was quite brief, and I wasn't able
to deduce much information from it.

FYI, both SBS and VSBS files are functions that control
the battery functions for the SONY laptop.

If the problem happens after you've install some
application(s), you can uninstall the application(s) and
test it again (This will helps in determine the
culprit).

Next, if you have any 3rd-party anti-virus software or
Norton System Works, you can also disable it temporarily
and see if the error will reoccur.

You may want to refer to the following KB articles:

* Error Message: Sbs.drv Cannot Load Because Vsbs.386 Is
Not Available

Hope the given information helps.
