Ok, so I tried out the smart device CAB project and it’s a real pain in the
rear. It has taken the simple act of editing a .inf file and running it
through a console app and replaced it with a “visually†oriented activity
that is strewn through several utilities from the “Viewâ€, and “Action†menus
as well as several menus that are available by right clicking the CAB
project. And it seems somewhat more limited than the old way, for example,
you can create a shortcut of the app your CAB-ing up but apparently cannot
specify the directory you want it to reside in. (I guess this counts for
progress at MS.)
So, do we have a command line app for VS2005 that will create CAB files from
..inf files, or can we use the one from VS2003 with .inf files that were
initially created in VS2005?
