Hi all,
I've been having a play over the weekend with VS 2005 and what an
improvement on 2003. I've come across a couple of things which I can't
seem to work out ... does anybody here know how to solve these?
1. With ActiveSync v3.8 you can cradle the emulator and AS will talk to
it so you can test deployment code etc. I was trying this with AS v4 and
be dammed if I could get the emulator to talk to it. Anybody had any
success?
2. When installing the SQL Mobile server tools to allow RDA push and
pull you have two options. The first called SQL Mobile requires a
publication from the DB to connect into. The second called SQL Server
requires SSL which I don't have. All I want is a simple push, pull to
one table in the DB which is keyed using the pocket pc device id to stop
conflicts. I take it I need to get an SSL cert and use the second option
or is there a work round?
3. If I install the SQL Mobile server tools can I use them to sync SQL
CE 2.0 databases provided the backed is SQL 2005 or would I need my
production server setup to support both sets of tools.
This is all being tested on my home PC which is not a true development
setup all the serious stuff is done in the office where I have SSL certs
at my disposal but would like to continue to play at home if possible.
My thanks for any info
