Hi,

I have just got back from vacation and neither of my VS installs work any
more.
VS2005 gives me a package load failure on
microsoft.visualstudio.shell.interop and the web form designer no longer
works.
VS2008 seems to fail *all* package loads.

The only things that could have changed on my computer while I was away are
Microsoft Updates or our entreprise domain policy - has there been an issue
with VS and any recent updates?

I am currently doing a total manual uninstall of both to try and start from
scratch, but would appreciate it if anyone had any info.

TIA

If you're able to backup important changes on your computer, you can
try a System Restore into a recent point especially for registry
changes. Plus, if you're pretty sure which specific updates may have
caused this behaviour, you can try to uninstall them.

Hope this helps,
