I am trying to set up Visual Studio .NET 2003 on a Windows
Server 2003 [pdc/ActiveDir], I have set up ASP.NET IIS6
Front Page Extensions, it run the prerequesite wizard and
it installs:
*Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Web Extensions Client
* Setup runtime files
* Microsoft Visual J# .NET Redistributable Package
1.1

I click done, the try step 2 in the Visual Studio .NET
setup:

I then get an obscure message, wich keeps me in a loop of
never getting the .NET vstudio installed:

"Remote Components are installed on this machine. To
install additional features, uninstall Visual Studio .NET
using Add/Remove Programs in the control panel, and then
re-run setup. These steps allow you to install the remote
components as well as other Visual Studio.NET features."

There is no uninstal Visual Studio.NET, so I am pretty
stuck,

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Grant

Hi Grant,

Thanks for posting. If I understand correctly, the issue has been resovled
by yourself. Is this the case?

Usually before installing VS.Net, we need to uninstall the Remote
Components from the target system.

If you have any concerns or new findings regarding this issue, please feel
free to post here.
