When is the exact release date vs 05?
(It would be just great if I could fit it in before year end.)

thanks in advance.

The final version (RTM) is already available for download from MSDN
(Subscribers only). However, it will officially be launched from Nov 7, 2005
around the world.

Siva,

There has never been a RTM (Ready To Market) version outside Microsoft in my
idea.

The current versions on MSDN are just the Current Market versions (however
that extention is of course never given to a product).

The latest one before this one has been the RC1. Release Candidate One.

May I ask where you got that use of RTM?

Mattias,

Thanks for correcting me in this, however the name of the current version is
in my opinion not RTM.

You are right reading this that the RC1 can be seen as RTM. Although I still
not have that feeling. For me is an RTM that piece that does not change and
only will be changed if there really is an unexpected accident however is
ready to copy to put in the box to trade.

RC releases from Microsoft have never given me that idea.

Can be an interpretation from me.

No - a release candidate is only a *candidate* for release. RTM is
*the* released version.

No - that's a release candidate. (RTM) Release To Manufacturing is
exactly that - the one which is released to manufacturing.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Release_to_manufacturing

I suspect so.

Cor, as Mattias pointed out, the current VS 2005/.NET 2.0 version that MSDN
has is the final (release) version not an RC.
