VS 2003 Exception

I recently installed VS .NET 2003 Pro after uninstalling a trial version. VS
now crashes when I attempt to create smart device VB projects. When I
attempt to open my old VB projects VS displays the error that "The .NET
assembly 'System' could not be found. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
twice, and still get the same error.

Any help is appreciated.
 
Try uninstalling again and deleting the files under "C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\visualstudio", then
reinstalling.

Sorry, the next suggestion will be reformat as I can't think of any other
particular place where something could have left
