Hi
I have just bought a Connect3D Radeon 7000, and I have a problem.
When I had installed the drivers I went to the settings to change the
resolution and refresh rate, and at the same time I changed the AGP settings
to AGP 2x (instead of 1) and Fast write to On (instead of Off). I rebooted,
and everything seemed to work ok.
But after surfing for a while, the screen turned off for a second (as in
sleep mode), and turned on again with an error message stating "VPU Recover
has reset your graphic accelerator since it didn't respond the driver
commands anymore" (or similar, translated from Swedish). So I though it was
because of the AGP-settings, and changed them back to 1x and fast write off.
But the problem persists, and the last two hours it has happend five times
while just surfing.
I have read some threads about this problem, but I've seen a few different
ideas to solve it. Some suggest disabling the VPU Recover, but what exactly
does it mean to disable it? Will my computer restart instead of the screen
going off and on again?
Or should I use some older driver version? If so, whitch should I choose? (I
don't do games.)
And were can the older versions be found? I installed the version on the CD
from the box.
Driver version: 6.14.10.6396
Driver date: 9/29/2003
