It isn't essential, but it is a big help. The point is that the client has
to be able to connect using your current public IP address. If your IP is
dynamic, you can't code the address into the client. Your only option is to
use a symbolic name, and use one of the dynamic DNS providers to make sure
that name points to your current dynamic IP.
