Seems like what I have should work...but it just doesn't...

I stepped through the RRAS wizard and installed the VPN service. I can
connect to the VPN on the lan, but I am having problems connecting through
the WAN.

I have pptp passthrough enabled on router, forwarding port 1723. I am using
TCP View and do notice that the connection is being made but not processed,
so it seems like the port forwarding is working. I'm using a WRV54G router,
windows 2000 advanced server sp4, and connecting with win xp sp2 clients. On
the client side (over the internet) I get Error 628.

Any help? Let me know if you need any clarification.

I would upgradte the firmware first.

Ah, unfortunately I have the latest version of firmware for this router
already.

Is there anything else I might be missing?

Seems I am pretty stuck on this one, please feel free to request any
additional information that may help solve this problem.

Well, from what I've been reading as of late, pptp isn't too secure anyway...

Does anyone have any good articles on how to get L2TP over IPSec configured
for windows 2000 advanced server?

I am not quite sure how getting all the certificates work...I will continue
to research, any help - would be great! Thanks.
