I have a win2k3 runing dns,dsa,&nat...all of which is working fine
I also have a dlink router.

recentley, I enabled the vpn & left it default... I have no restrictions on
any accounts

my router came with simple options which made it convinient for me, i only
had to check pptp, & ipsec to enable the right ports( GRE & everything
else)...
but in the routers options, I wasnt sure where to forward the options to? my
1st nic on the server (static nic), or my dynamic ip (internet nic) on the
server. I figured my static nic (private nic), so i forwarded to that.

So far this hasnt helped. When I go to another computer and try to make a
new vpn connection, it has alot of complicated menus. For instance, When it
asks for Ip address, I pointed to my IP assigned from my isp provider
(68.48.*.*). When it asked for login name, I put my account from the server.
I even tried to put no encryption, but it still fails to connect.

Im lost badly, I have no idea what to do to get in the server..

Should i point to my dynamic nic 192.168.0.100(in the server, nic #2)
instead of the static nic (in the server, nic #1)?
Am I missing something?

It appears as if you have not installed AND/OR Configured
RRAS - Routing and Remote Access on your VPN Server. When
you go to configure RRAS you will have the option to
select VPN Server. The setup is relatively self
explanatory and this will be where you define the
interface for accepting the VPN requests. Once defined,
this will be the interface port forwarded to.

Also Note that you can setup the accounts that have vpn
access in your user manager. After RRAS is setup you will
have new options in your Dial-Up(Remote Access) tab.

I believe once you have this setup you will know how to
setup/tweak the rest of your VPN network configuration.

Ok...I found out what was wrong.....

In dsa.msc, by default, all the user account were denied dial-in... I
changed that.
