Greetings,

I can connect 2 pcs remotely using VPNs under XP Pro SP2. Say puterA and
puterB. PuterA can ping the IP adress of puterB but not the other way
around. Both are part of the same "workgroup" but the browsing feature
doesn't work. I can't see the Netbios puterB on puterA and the otherway
around. IP routing has been enable on both system.

How can I get those 2 computers to "see" each other ? LMHOST doesn't seem to
be the solution. Any help would be appreciated. I haven't found any "howto
VPN" under XP since almost all info is related to VPN in a domain env.

TIA

We may have two issues here. 1. Ping from B to A. Make sure no firewall locking the ping.

2. The solutions for the name resolution are DNS, WINS and LMHOSTS. Also some routers may have netbios over tcp/ip feature. This link may help,

Computer browser over VPN Computer browsing over VPN involves routers, multiple segments and ... Alternatively, it is possible to browse over VPN by using LMHOSTS files on all VPN ...
