VPN through firewall problem

Is it not possible to connect to a VPN when you are behind
a firewall? If not, can somebody please suggest a work
around for this. Thanks!

Open port 1701 for L2TP or port 1723 for PPTP.

it is possible, but how to do it depends on your vpn and your firewall.

Many of the newer vpn clients or network devices for ipsec have an option to
do udp wrapping/transparent tunneling/nat traversal which is typically the
biggest problems when passing through a firewall. What type of VPN are you
actually running? That would help in making a recommendation about what to
do.
