I have two automotive dealerships connected by frame relay for the purpose
of running 3 reports a month on the remote ADP mainframe to print to the
local formqueue on the local ADP mainrframe. These reports can only be sent
to a formqueue printer. The costs to run this process is $700/mo includes
network support and loop charge. I have considered RDP to connect to the
remote mainframe but then can only print to the remote formqueue, defeats
purpose.
Was wondering to reduce costs of connection if a VPN would allow access to
remote ADP server, and being that routing between the two servers is already
configured if I substitute a VPN for the frame relay useing two fixed IP DSL
connections if print jobs from the remote ADP server would route to my local
formqueue.

You need to either be able to manage both ends or if
you're connecting to someone else to find out what they
support.

You're talking about substituting a dedicated connection
which may or may not itself be a hardware VPN solution
with a software solution.

Especially if your loads are relatively light, it's
technically and practically possible... but both ends need
to agree on your solution.
