VPN Server - Client Question

Hello Group,

I am a novice at VPN networks. Both client and server have Windows XP
Pro.

I installed the server with windows xp vpn incoming connections and
the client tomake the connection.

I canmake the connection fine. But I lose internet connection with my
broadband provider (Comcast) after I make the connection to the VPN
server anyway to rectify this?

Also the server has file shares, but I canot seem to see them anywhere
and I have file sharing on. Any ideas?

What do you mean you lose broadband connection? Do you lose your VPN or
just LAN and Internet browsing/email access? If you are still connected via
VPN you did not lose your broadband access.

If you still have VPN access, try changing the default gateway setting in
your VPN app to not use the remote gateway.

Hello,

I lose access to the internet, I have no internet access, the VPN
stays connected, ok will do that. Any idea why I cant see the shares?
