VPN security risk?

Hi folks,
Somewhere in my travels I seem to remember reading or
hearing that if you have an active VPN connection (on any
given box) AND can still browse the internet at the same
time...you have a HUGE security concern. You should be
able to do one or the other, but it's a security breech to
even be able to do both at the same time. Has anyone heard
that before? Do you any links that discuss that topic?
Thank you.

Craig

Yes, it makes sense. If you connect to the Internet from an unsecured
connection, and make a secure connection to your corporate network, any
clown who hacks into your computer from the Internet is able to get to your
corporate network. This is why a lot of the better proprietary VPN
solutions automatically disable any non-VPN traffic when connected. If you
don't have one that does this, get a firewall.
