vpn problem

I have connected two offices using vpn routers, connection is fine, but when
I attempt to run software and access a database at the main office, it is
really slow, and I have to end the process. Xp machine is at branch office,
NT 4.0 server is at other office.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help in advance!

1) What is the vpn software/hardware you are using; 2) when you say
"connection is fine" what does that mean? 3) what kind of connection
are you using - adsl, T1, etc.? Are these machines set up in a domain
and if so, do they connect quickly? Please post back with more details
for help.
