Does anyone know what ports i need to enable on my
firewall so i can allow VPN traffic to pass though. Im
using a firewall called Lan Suite and will be connecting
though the built in VPN client in windows.

Thanks

It depends which tunneling protocol your using. Do You know?

PPTP uses 1723 and GRE uses IP 47

I am trying to use PPTP so all i need to enable is

TCP 1723 and
TCP 47

My firewall only gives me option of TCP, UDP, ICMP

Is this right???

PPTP uses tcp port 1723. You do not need tcp port 47. This has nothing
to do with VPN. What you must allow is GRE, which is IP protocol 47.

PPTP is used to set up and maintain the tunnel. The actual VPN data
comes over the Internet as the payload inside an IP packet wirh a GRE
header. So your firewall must allow GRE in both directions, or VPN will
fail.
