Hello,

When i click on the VPN connection, the machines are
authenicated and I am connecting. When I look at the IP
address of the VPN, it is getting a 169.0.0.0 address when
I have a dhcp for 10.0.0.1. I am not able to get the
internet as well when I have this connected and I would
think that when I log in to the domain, I should be able
to see other machines in network neighborhood, but that is
not the case. I can only see the machine that I am on.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi,

It would appear that your VPN server is configured to use DHCP addresses to
assign to incoming clients, but cannot get the addresses from DHCP. See the
following article for more information:

216805 RAS Server Behavior When Configured to Use DHCP to Assign IP
Addresses

.
I also had this problem - DHCP was set on VPN/RRAS
server, but clients kept trying to get an address from
the router instead. Got around the problem by configuring
the RRAS server to use a static IP pool instead of DHCP.
Must admit that I haven't seen the article that Marc
refers to, so that might be a better way.
