VPN Log on Problem.....?

I have computers in another city which can access my net work through a
terminal server but want to set them up as VPN clients.

Can I set their work station logon properties so that when the users log
their machines on they automatically log on to the VPN server at the main
office?

Or do they always have to log on "locally" and subsequently connect to the
VPN server?

I'm trying to cut down on the number of steps the technologically challenged
have to take and want their computers to connect directly (as workstations)
to the network at the main office.

Any help gratefully received

Chris

I have set up a VPN for clients between locations successfully and it's very simple as far as accessing the drives... just simply share the "host" PC drives and "map" those drives on the "client"... the real key is finding the "host" in Network Places- you won't- it will only appear when you do a "search" for computers using the "private" IP address of the "host"- example ip address: 192.168.2.2

after reading your initial message I probably didn't fully answer your question...

If I understand you correctly, it is possible to initiate a "Remote Desktop" (Terminal Service) automatically by placing it in the STARTUP- not recommended.

I would continue requiriung each user client PC to click on their Remote Desktop (Terminal Services) icon to log in- and also saving passwords for automatic log-in for remote connections can be a " hacker dream come true".

Have I confused you or do you need further explanation?
