Hello,
We have 2 offices: office A (W2000 domain, W2000/98 client, RRAS and DNS are
running on DC, Linksys router works as DHCP Server, cable internet) and
office B ( workgroup from 3 PCs, W2000/W98). Client from office B can to
office A network using VPN connection, it works good. The problem is that
all PCs from office A have to see connected computer from office B and have
to have access to share resources on this computer. Practically it should
be like this: user (office A) goes to Network Place, sees the remote
computer (from office B) and can browse resources on that computer. I cannot
find the way how to implement this:
- if I want to see remote computer in my Network Place it must be
registered in DNS;
- remote computer can be registered in DNS if DNS is listening all
interfaces;
- if DNS is listening all interfaces my Intranet users cannot browse the
network.
Is it possible to resolve this problems? Can I implement this using VPN or
I go wrong way at all? Thank you very much for all reply.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there are lots of problems with
this setup.

The major problem is that, with your DC running as a remote access
server, you have problems with both DNS and the browser service. There are
several KB articles on this including 289735 and 292822.

Even when you sort out those problems, browsing across a WAN is tricky.
To get it to work will probably require WINS, so that the browse masters can
see each other across the link. And it would probably need a LAN-to-LAN
routed connection. (You may have this - you didn't specify how they were
linked). See KB 150800 for details of browsing across a WAN.
