VPN- I cant see files

I have set up a VPN between two XP computers. The
connection works but I can not access the computer or any
of the files. The compter does not show up in my network
places, and I have searched for it but it wont show up
that way either. Please help.

I just did this and had this problem. We had 2 lynksys

routers and dsl's with static IP's. We set up the
routers with the static IPs, and also put the static IPs
in IP area in Network connections/local area
connection/propertoes/internet protocol TCP/IP. We could
not see each other. We changed setting for TCP/IP from
static to "obtain IP address" on both machines and that
did it.
