Can a drive be mapped through a VPN connection, and if yes how?

Is it possible to bridge 2 networks over the internet using a VPN
connection, and if yes how?

Since VPN requires open ports, my systems must be more vulnerable from a
security stand point than they are without the ports open? If yes, would
they now be safer if I keep a VPN connection up at all times, based on only
one connection is possible at a time, thus blocking other attempts to
connect?

Other than Remote Desktop, what are some common uses for a VPN connection?

TIA,

Ray

YES, Make VPN connection to your server from client and then "net use" to
the server address.
