I have created a VPN with 2000 Server accessing XP Pro.
Now files are set to share on XP Pro but I cannot access
that computer. It's not showing up in Windows Explorer
under my network connections and I really can't see why
it's not working. Thank you if you can help me.

Can you ping the remote computer's IP?

If you can you need to be able to resolve the remote computer's name by
using WINS or if just one or a few computer, Putting the information in the
host file.

If you go to Start>Run type in \\machine\share where machine is the name of the Windows XP machine and share is the name of
the shared resource, it should open that resource. You don't necessarily have to be able to see the machine to access it. It's
best to start with the basics though. Make sure you can resolve the name of the XP machine to it's IP address. To do this, open
a command prompt and type pind machine where machine is the name of the XP box. If this doesn't work, try pinging the IP
address of the XP machine. This will establish if you have basic network connectivity to the Xp box.

Thank you,
