I am trying to set up a VPN on my server and I am
receiving an error. " You have choosen the last available
connection as the internet connection. A VPN server
requires that one connection be used as a private network
connection."
I only have the options of Local area connection and No
internet connection. You should be able to setup a VPN
with out having 2 NICs in stalled in the server..correct?
Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this
problem and how to resolve it??

Thanks in advance.....

Rick

Don't use the "create vpn server" option, instead use
the "remote access server" option when you configure the
RRAS. After that i works just fine, don't forget to remove
the L2TP ports if you dont set up a certificate server.

Tried that and I still get the same error......

Anything else? Would it just be better to install a
second NIC and be done with it??

I do get "Verifying username and password" on client side
then the error.....

" The computer you're dialing in to does not respond to a
network request".....Arghhhh

No, that causes more problems than it fixes. You can certainly enable a
machine as a remote access server with just one NIC. You are doing something
wrong if you get the same error. Have you tried the "manual config" option
in the wizard?
