VPN drive mapping

Hello, all,

I posted this is the wrong forum, apologies. I am having
problems mapping shares on a XP server connected via XP
VPN to an XP client.

On the server the shares are set up properly (other
computers on the server's LAN can see them fine). I set
the input IPs to match the server's LAN (192.168.0.10 -
192.168.0.19).

On the client an address in this range shows up when I
connect (firewalls off on both machines). That's as far
as I get, though: Nothing maps on client machine, I can't
see the server in my network places, etc.

The appropriate Users are allowed remote connections on
the server, so I don't think its a permission problem.
Workgroup names, account names, and passwords are the
same on server and client.

I assume there's a "trick" required here. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Pat

Have you tried using the UNC... Example:

\\PC_Name\Share_Name

\\Ashtabula\Public

Yep. No connection, no way, no how.

Also: I have a sucessful VPN to my server via my laptop.
When I tried to set the non-working server up as a client
and connect to my server it didn't work either. Firewall
down; doesn't matter.

I'm wondering if its the ISP - SBC/Yahoo DSL. Visiting
their website I see they have big ads for their VPN
setup, for big bucks also. Wonder if SBC is blocking
part of the VPN responses?
