VPN doesn't install

HI,
xp, sp3.

I'm trying to install VPN but at the end of the process I get a message
saying:" Validation failed for vsdata.dll". This file is in
windows/system32. Tried disabling the antivirus, didn't help.

-any ideas?

If the possibility of a corrupted install package is possible. then
the first and most obvious question is probably: Did you download a
fresh copy and retry the install?

Disabling antimalware during an install is very smart.

Some of the support notes at Cisco re: VPN are a bit old. However, they
do mention third party firewall trouble.

If Googling this doesn't quickly bring you a solution, your time might
best be spent with tech support at Cisco.

Well I did. I couldn't say unfortunately that it was "best spent"!

Several "third" party VPN clients can interfer with others. As for
installing Cisco, you need to make usre hat neither the Watchguard,
Sonicwall or other with IPSec controls are install. It is said to say
but installing a VPN software, that software will assume it will be
the only VPN ever to be install on the PC.

It is the only VPN. and none of the softwares you mention are installed.

Where did you download the Cisco client from and have you tried
downloading from a different site?
