VPN disconnected internet

When i tried to login to VPN server, my current internet connection
will be disconnected until i logoff the vpn connection. Pls advise
what is wrong . Thanks.

You don't mention what kind of VPN you're using, but this is normal with
many VPN setups, and is recommended - you don't want to allow non-VPN
traffic for security reasons. Perhaps you can specify "use remote gateway"
in your VPN settings?
 
Nothing is wrong. That is the way it works. Your Connection is in USE while
connected to VPN, thus no Internet Access.
 
I'm using NT 4 server PPTP server as vpn server and win2000 prof as
client. How to specify use remote gateway in the vpn setting ?

It's done on your VPN client - I don't use PPTP so I can't tell you exactly
where, but look at the properties.
"Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]"
You don't mention what kind of VPN you're using, but this is normal
with many VPN setups, and is recommended - you don't want to allow
non-VPN traffic for security reasons. Perhaps you can specify "use
remote gateway" in your VPN settings?

As I said, I don't use PPTP and can't tell you for sure. I just know it's
there. Search around.
