you are probably trying to access the internet through
the remote computer which is not set up for routing.
in network connections on your computer, right click on
your vpn icon / properties/networking tab/highlight
TCP/IP /properties/advanced button/ untick box for "use
default gateway on remote network"
That should solve your problem - your pc will now use
it's own gateway instead of the remote server's
