I am trying to connect remotely to work. I have already
downloaded the software from our SonicWall firewall and
can get connected to the external IP address. How do I
get to the internal IP address? I am running XP at home
and the remote server is a Terminal server running
Windows 2000. I set up a remote desktop connection to
the internal IP address but my administrator and personal
work passwords do not work. Then someone told me to ping
the internal IP which does connect but what do I do from
there to get into the network? I am so frustrated!

When setting the VPN connection up. You must enter the
external IP address or hostname of the authenticating
server or router (ie. it must be accessible on the
internet). Once connected, your first layer is up. Now
launch remote desktop and use the internal IP address or
hostname of your computer. That should do it.
