Hi!

I have one Windows 2003 server for file sharing purpose. My management would
like to remote access this server at home. We have a DLink DI 304 router. All
company PC connected to router can access to internet. I have configured
routing and remote access setting in Windows 2003 server and enable dial in
function to user and enable grant user remote access in remote access
policies. However when user tries to use vpn dialer to remote access the
server will prompt

"Error 649: the account does not have permission to dial in."

I have checked both server and client setting. I don't think any problem for
both settings. So I suspect is router setting problem. So if I want to
outside visitor to remote access my server through this DLink router. What
configuration I need to do for this router. So any one can help me?

Thanks & Regards

Normally, VPN Error 649 is permission issue. You may want to try another account for example administrator. If you think it is router settings issue, make sure this is VPN pass through router and also make sure the port 1723 is open.
