VPN browstat

when a vpn connection is made on w2000 advanced server
that is the browse master, it adds a tcpip interface.
That interface will show up with a browstat status
request. It will read that getting the browse master for
that interface failed. Eventually other computers on the
network will lose the ability to get the browse list. If
RRAS service is restarted then the extra interface goes
away. I've seen this on every 2000 Advanced server that
I've configured with VPN. Am I doing something wrong, is
there a cure for this, is it by design etc? We need the
browse master for some older computers and applications
that require browsing instead of AD. I don't know where
to go next with this. I can't stand around all day
restarting the RRAS service each time someone disconnects
from a VPN connection.
