VPN and drive mapping

I managed to set up a VPN and get connected the server at
work but cannot map the drive on the server - I get an
error message that says "An error occured while
connecting to drive X: server\c The network path was not
found"
I am using Win Xp at home and Win2000 server at work.
(I have connected to the server in the past through this
connection)
 
I had the same problem, and I corrected it by mapping the
drive with the IP address instead of the computer name.
When you go to map the drive replace the computer name
with the IP address of that computer. \\10.0.0.1\folder
