When clients use our VPN they arent able to resolve names.
If an IP is used to connect to resources, it works. They
are receiving the correct IP for DNS through DHCP but if I
nslookup any server or workstation names, it comes back
with
*** dnsserver.somewhere.com can't find otherserver:
Server failed

what could be causing this? Would it be on RRAS side or
DNS side?

thanks for help!

Perhaps the routing to the DNS server is not working?
Can you ping the DNS server (by number)?

ipconfig /all (while connected) to show the settings on
the client. (You did say 'the receive correct address.')

Yes, the clients are receiving the correct DNS server IP
and are able to ping it successfully.
They can ping any network IP without problems and only
encounter issues when attempting to resolve names.
