Looking to take mobile users laptops off POP3 b/c they
spend 50% of time in office where it would be better for
them to use Exchange. Other than VPN, what other means
are there of accomplishing this task?

Win XP Pro....
Using Sprint Wireless cards for internet access

What about Outlook Web Access?
If you have E2003 and OL2003 on WinXP SP1, you can look into RPC over
HTTP(s).
Not sure what the objection is to VPN, but I personally like it - if you get
a good solution (I like Sonicwall's proprietary IPSec client). It's
important to make sure that whatever you go with allows you to block all
non-VPN traffic (such as Internet access) from the client while the
connection is enabled, to prevent unwanted visitors in your network.

Funny thing is we do have Outlook Web Access....but the
managers and reps with the laptops say it's "clunky"...
which it is if you are used to using Outlook most of the
time. Nothing wrong with VPN, but we have some concerns
about it's speed w/ encryption coupled next to the
compression process from the Sprint Wireless
card...thanks for your feedback though.
