Sorry I made a mistake the extension is VOB not VOM.
I cannot open .VOB file to edit using MM. Please help. I have an external
Sony DRX-530UL Rewriteable Drive & I am trying to edit or copy my son's
wedding video. I have also tried to use MYDVD & Magix Video Deluxe without
any success. Please help.

Most DVD writing software, such as Nero, will allow you to copy a DVD as
long as it isn't a copy-protected DVD. The VOB file is not immediately
importable by Movie Maker, it needs to be converted to AVI or WMV first and
then imported into WMM.
For conversion information you can go here:
http://www.videohelp.com/convert
And for information on Nero and other DVD software visit the DVD Programs
section on my website.

I have Nero version 5.5 dyu think it will work? Is it possible to change the
format by changing the extension on Properties?

Sure if I remember correctly Nero 5.5 came with the Nero Recode utility
which will work but, as I said before, only with DVD's that aren't copy
protected.
No simply changing the file extension will not work.

Thanx. Just to try I did try changing the file extension and it played but
only the picture was sort of squashed up in size.
