Volume

All my notification sounds are low volume have to turn my
volume up to very close to maximum - includes Excel, Word
etc . No ida what is going on. Any suggestions on how to
fix ?

Have you checked your output level in the volune control

settings?
Start>programs>accessories>entertainment>volune control
 
I have checked the output level - plugs - speakers -
mute - buttons - even add/remove on the games as well
still no luck
