The computer freezes. This began happening after XP Home
Edition was installed. Fried moterboard, CPU, power
source and video card have been replaced. On restart get
message that it is checking for disc consistency. Volume
serial# 156E-1501. Then I get a screen with lots of text
that I do not have time to read and understand. The
computer then goes to the start up--until it freezes
again. Any ideas?

You'll have to call microsoft and beg them to register
your copy of XP to your machine.I lost my hard drive
figured I would up my processore from 1.4 to 2.3 and a
256 video card from 64,160 HD from 30 GIG.450W power
supply from 300W.Same problem, had to format beg MS(who
didn't believe me,that I upgraded my sony.Told me to buy
a fresh copy,Called every day for 2 weeks, also had sony
call that finally got it for me.
serial# 156E-1501 means that copy belongs to another
registered computer,and won't start up,the following is
what happened to it after it shut the EULA down so it
won't run.U R screwed.format,buy a new discor beg,beg,beg.

With a new motherboard, you're going to want to do a repair install of the
OS.
