My XP Home Edition crashes. The moterboard, CPU, power
source, and video card have been replaced. When I
restart the computer, a notice comes up that one on the
discs needs to be checked for consistency. Volume serial
# 156E-1501. After it is checked, another screen comes
up with lots of text--and I don't have time to read and
understand it. Any advice?

Go to Control Panel > Admin. Tools > Event Viewer > Application > Winlogon
after running Check Disk to see the report.

tried to leave you a detail of what wuz up but MS
wouldn't let it go thru, sounds like your trying to pirate
a copy of XP,and they don't want you to use it on a
second box, like I said tried but they rejected my post!

Carey, don't he have to call MS and beg them to register
it for a hardware change.I think he changed too much
hardware and it's recognised it as a pirate copy.
