Volume labels for Drives won't change?!

Hi,

I;ve been having this problem ever since initial installation of my
WinXP Home Edition: Whenever i insert a CD or a DVD into their
respective drives(i have both a CD/RW drive and a DVD/RW drive) the
names of the Discs will NOT show in Explorer no matter what i try until
i reboot the machine..and THEn the label is SET as the current disc even
when i remove it and place a totally different disc in the drive..what
gives??? This is buggin the bejeezus outta me!

OH! and excuse the Name roleplayin with freinds kinda gets a bit...randy
