Here's the situation: I have various pieces of software that have sound
associated with them. One plays MP3s, one will play WAV sounds, etc. I
usually set my systems volume controls to their loudest position. Problem:
When I'm playing MP3s, the player has a volume control which is tied to the
system's volume control. Therefore, even though my system was set to its'
highest volume, if I reduce the volume (control) on the player, it also
reduces the volume of my system accordingly. Now, I have used the Windows
recorder to record my voice which I want to play a sound bite under certain
circumstances (receiving Lotus Notes mail - for example). THAT sound comes
through at a volume MUCH louder than the MP3s. Some other piece of software
will play a sound bite - but much too soft to be able to be heard over the
MP3s playing. I think you can see my dilemma. I'd like to be able to set
the volume for each piece of software independent of each other. Is there a
way to do this? Thanks....................
