Volume icon disappeared

Suddenly the Volume Icon has disappeared from the System Tray..
In the Taskbar Properties, "Hide inactive icons" is UNCHECKED
In the Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices, " Place volume
icon" IS CHECKED
AFTER the problem started, the Sound Card driver was reinstalled.

What is the solution?
