Volume control

When I try to play an audio or video file, the volume is really quiet. I've tried adjusting the volume control settings, but I can't seem to save the changes, and it gets quiet again when the song changes. Can anyone help me?
 
Amy, go to Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices>Volume>Advanced. Make sure
all the sliders are at least half way
and no mute boxs are checked.
