First off. THANKS to all those so helpfull on this board
like DL.

Slowly but surely my issues are getting resolved. I'd be
lost without the help i've found here.

My sound card is working now however my MIC volume control
does not have the mic setting in the playback area.

Therefore I can't here my mic through my speakers or to
test before recording.

NOTE: It is in the recording control area and it IS giving
me record levels as my SoundForge software indicates its
getting mic levels. I know it's recording.

I would like to be able to monitor the mic level and since
its not on the volume control I can't hear it.

Its version 5.0 of microsoft volume control.

Is there an updated version or how do I find one?

will go back to donwload area and keep looking.

Thanks,

Jim

How silly of me. Just needed to check the option..i
thought it was checked but did not look close enough.

Here's the info some info that may help if others have
this issue.

Try this.

Method 4
Configure the Volume Control to display fewer mixer
listings. To do so, use the following steps:
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories,
point to Multimedia, and then click Volume Control. If
Volume Control is not listed, click Start, click Run,
type "Sndvol32.exe" (without quotation marks) in the Open
box, and then click OK.

In Windows 98, click Start, point to Programs, point to
Accessories, point to Entertainment, and then click Volume
Control.
On the Options menu, click Properties.
In the Show The Following Volume Controls box, click one
of the listed volume control check boxes to clear it, and
then click OK. If the Volume Control is not totally
visible, repeat steps 2-3 until you can view all of the
Volume Control. You may want to leave the most commonly
used controls such as Volume Control(or Speaker), Wave,
MIDI, and CD Player enabled for easy access.
Close Volume Control.
