Most safety standards kick in above 48V. Some may require 24 V or
less nominal. Anything less is quite safe, but don't drop a
wrench across a 12 V lead acid batteries terminals.
The short answer is that it's safe to use the max listed in the spec
sheet, provided you have adequate cooling.
The longer answer is that you have to consider the capabilities of the
motherboard to supply, filter that power, if it can. We dont' have
your board and can't test it.
