voices sound like chipmunks

my sister and i just got the same computer about a month ago and i was over
at her house playing with her nieces and her sound sounds like the chipmunks
i'll go on noggin for my nieces or like myspace for myself and all the voices
sound like chipmunks my computer works fine can anyone help me fix this
problem for my sister
