Anybody know of any voice recognition software for Win or Linux -
preferrably freeware, but inexpensive (under $50) OK too. If so, how good
is it? have tried Windows-based app derived from and based on the Microsoft
voice recognition engine, but was sadly disappointed in the accuracy. Would
like to try others.

Thanks!

Hi:

Nitrous Voice Flux will do this.. Of corse assuming you want a text to
speach to tell the computer to run programs, the time, and other commands it
can do.

If you were looking for a speacch to text program (to do typeing) Other than
comercial, I never saw any that do that.

Good Luck

The Honor System Virus:

Greetings!

This virus works on the honor system: You must now forward this message to
everyone in your address book and then, randomly delete a bunch of your
files. Thank you so much for your help.

Larry....actually, I am looking for a general purpose speech to text
program. I am aware of several that are specific to computer commands, but
I'm really looking for something that will allow me to "take dictation"
with enough accuracy to have a rough draft. I did look at Nitrous Voice
Flux, but the link didn't seem to give much description and I didn't find a
link to a homepage. A Google search got me to
http://www.rocketdownload.com/details/Syst/6075.htm which is also a
download site, but gave a few paragraphs of description and more info. The
lonk to the Nitrous homepage worked, but Voice Flux was nowhere to be seen
there. Other Google item got me to here which was helpful:
http://www.voiceflux.net/info.vx

Bottom line...still looking!

Thanks for your reply...Optiker

I just (20.9.03) tried to access "Nitrous Voice Flux". Even after extensive
searches on the Net, it could not be located. Seems the Nitrous company no
longer even edmits f its existence. It must have been very good for someone
to have decided to make it go away. Anyone have a copy on a site somewhere?
