Hey, I have a headset that I use for gaming (counterstrike) and the audio
works great, but the voice output does not work. The headset worked with XP,
and I can not figure out why it wont work with vista? I need help. Thanks!

Voice recognition has always been temperamental with microphones, even more
so with Vista. In previous versions of Windows I could use the microphone on
my web cam to talk to the computer; when Vista came out it put a stop to
that. So I purchased a LiveChat wireless microphone - like you use for
mobile phones. That was a complete waste of money because the speech engine
couldn't hear a word I said. Finally I went for a LiveChat USB headset and
that solved the problem. Strange thing now is, since I installed the beta of
service pack 1 (I don't recommend that you install it) my web cam microphone
has started to work with speech recognition again:-)

Check the recording option in Sound (control panel) to make sure that the
headset you are using is set as default.
